Overview

Modl is a next-generation fashion-focused social media app designed for both enthusiasts and professionals. It allows users to create detailed profiles, share and engage with fashion content, and build communities around style. What sets Modl apart is its premium user feature—stylists, models, and influencers can post fashion looks and tag items with external product links for affiliate marketing, directly driving traffic to third-party shopping sites. The platform also includes a robust admin dashboard where administrators can manage, edit, and curate user content, ensuring the app maintains its aesthetic and brand tone.


Objective

The main objective was to design a highly intuitive and visually appealing platform that could serve as the go-to destination for fashion inspiration, content creation, and monetization. The business model focuses on generating revenue through premium subscriptions, affiliate product linking, and providing seamless tools for administrators to manage and moderate content efficiently.


Problem

There was a significant gap in the market for a fashion-first social media platform that allowed both discovery and monetization. Existing platforms lacked the infrastructure to connect premium fashion creators with audiences in a way that also benefits brands and retailers.


Design Process

1. Requirement Discovery & Clarity

The project started with detailed requirement gathering, including brainstorming sessions and stakeholder meetups. These helped clarify the business goals, technical constraints, and user needs. A robust Q&A document captured insights from various discussions to define MVP, pre-launch, and full launch phases.
